As I understand it, the buck stops with The Speaker - what they say goes - that's parliaments protocol/tikanga. As you say Simon, the irony is rich - those blathering on about tikanga/protocol are those who are prone to undermine parliament's tikanga. Also kudos to the iwi for their humility and response. Quite telling about all concerned, really.
Greedy, power hungry, cynical, hypocritical bunch aren’t they? They have shown their colours so often and blatantly that as far as I am concerned any one who stands by them and anyone who acts as an apologist for them is no different from them.
There is no compromising with these people - they are the type of people that a society can only deal with (and survive) when the majority wakes up to the way its goodwill is being taken gross advantage of amd decides that enough is enough and that fire needs to be fought with fire.
They are just scum. Whoever promoted them for election and supports them are scum too. Why not turn up at their Marae and subject them to the the same level of disrespect and contempt?
