Exactly right Simon . Arguably the regime is worse than those they wiped out.

It will feel stronger and also, importantly, it won't be changing its behaviour. It never will, because it cannot.

Very good, sadly accurate. I can’t help but feel Trump has been badly let down by our ‘allies’ in Europe. Had they stood up strong, the US may have had enough public support to go much harder. Which is what was needed. A regime change is what the Iranian folk need. What they want. They back this US response, they accept the risks, but it’s not gone nearly far enough. Yes, it’s also about China, but one thing at a time and the free world’s first priority is eradicating the IRGC fuckwits. Still, if the mullahs get really close to having a nuke, the Israelis will finish it their way. Big time. This would’ve been better for all tho.

I think the whole thing is terribly complicated and not one single narrative or reason for how things have developed. I think you are quite right to mention Europe but I'd add the critical race theorists in our country (and others) too, plus other groups and interests. This said, I think Trump has made a series of mistakes from day one and now making 'cheap' political decisions.

Yes, I’m sure you’re right about the political influence. Indeed those other factors too!

100% agree Simon. They will never give up unless forced to.

Neville Chamberlain is consigned to history but his actions live on in the minds of Western leaders. What's the old saying, "Those who don't learn from History_ _ _ _ _ _????? "

Yes, but that was all the outcome the US intelligence told trump would likely happen, before the US and Israel attacked Iran.

I can't help think Trump though his 'will' alone could change things. He's learning a lesson now, although he will not be the one to feel the consequences.

Attacked Iran? I think you meant ‘struck back at Iran’? The war has been going a while & Trump most certainly didn’t start it.

Good point insofar as this mad regime has been causing havoc and death for many decades. From my point of view, there was not clear end goal or exit strategy from the US. Not sure your thoughts, but I think Trump believed it would just go easily ... and clearly it has not.

Cervantes may have written “What man can pretend to know the riddle of a woman’s mind?” But he had never met Trump. I’ve honestly no idea. This ‘war’ (battle within a long existing war to more accurate) had to happen, and the US were clearly dominant. But I don’t understand why they didn’t double down after they cut the heads of the snake/medusa. The people’s attempted revolution timing was off and tragically led to so many being killed. But in all this Simon, I cannot fathom how everyone only talks of oil prices when the main goal should have been the liberation of 90 million people from pure tyranny. (With the added bonus of removing a major threat to Middle Eastern peace, securing Israel’s existence & wishfully excising a bunch of jihadi morons)

A similar view to mine - a strong start, but then stuttered and blustered. Sadly, the earlier revolution that failed and saw so many citizens killed, meant a new rising up was harder to achieve. The regime are religious fanatics and embracing of death, and so more chaos and death will come.

We may be disappointed now, but the inhuman regime will ultimately fall. It might take decades, but human nature will ultimately triumph. In the meantime the mullahs know that the USA and Israel will have gained another foothold within their institutions.

You just cannot make a deal with the Devil. Islam is fundamentally evil

We have been at war with Islam for 1400 years! Over that time they have raped, plundered, murdered, force converted, terrorised populations & conquered territory - 53 nations today!

Remember Istanbul used to be Constantinople!

Collectively in this era of the UN, what have they done about these totalitarian regimes in the midst of their 'crying' about human rights, women being liberated, climate change, UNDRIP, freedom of speech & upholding democratic institutions!

NOTHING!

The only nations that come under any scrutiny with the expectation of complying are western nations (Judeo-Christian nations) who are playing largely by the 'Queensberry rules' we set up, but no one else!

Funny that, the West is under attack from all sides & the one person doing anything about it is vilified by those who will ultimately benefit from the restoration of Christianity & national sovereignty, which Pres Trump has been fighting for, even in Nigeria!

I'm reminded of the Hebrews who carped at Moses after he scolded them for fighting each other, 'attacking' him over killing their enemy the Egyptian task master as with the left hand thief & Jesus!

Rather than being grateful & recognising Moses as an ally, they rounded on him! Consequently Moses had to leave Egypt, & therefore the Hebrews continued being slaves for another 40 years!

Consider what Pres Trump has done in his time in office & the attacks he has come under & what he has pushed back on which has positively affected the world! Resurrecting patriotism & even the will to fight back against state totalitarianism!

Pres Trump has inherited all the failures of the past & successive administrations not dealing with issues that should have been dealt with going back to WW 2, where Eastern Europe was just handed over to the USSR without a shot being fired in defence of those nations! The betrayal is eye watering!

Without Trump's intervention, actions, the world would be a poorer place, & we could be witnessing bloodshed all over the world, NOT just in Iran & the Middle East!

It's still early days, we don't know the details of the Iran deal, & those who live in 'glass houses shouldn't throw stones'!

Both Simon & Ashley Church on 'Straight Talk' last night were excessively 'self-righteous' & judgey! Mt 7:1-5

Don't be! Recognise who your friends are, & don't get caught up in 'personality politics'!
