Everyone has the right to peaceful protest. This should not be selectively applied. The right to protest is not the right to be taken any notice of. Pollution and damage to the environment will only meaningfully change when swathes of the world's poorest people earn enough to survive today, tomorrow and a month from now. The inclusion of the Free Palestine protest was just bizarre. The comment from NZ politicians in these protests shows that they are meddling in something they know nothing about. Both Fatah and Hammas exist to destroy Israel. The current war is troubling but the Free Palestine movement isn't the answer.
How about after school or on the weekend! How much disruption does this cause for those students who don't want to miss their lessons, or aren't supportive!

Agreed. That the Tuesday was already a day off would have been the logical time, but chosen against. I think the choice of day is telling of a wider problem - that is, an undervaluing of education.
For myself it is the 'ideological manipulation' of young people, because we are failing to 'educate' them properly when it comes to 'science & history'!
Therefore they develop a 'highly reactive, emotional response' due to the 'propaganda lies' they are being fed at school, but also from the Govt down!

My understanding is that the Israeli asserted, widespread and systematic use of sexual assualts by Hammas, is fabricated, lacking any forensic, visual, photographic or witness statement evidence. The reports were started by an Israeli agency Zaka, that was founded by Meshi-Zahav, who ironically, was implicated in decades of sexual abuse after being accused of numerous allegations of rape and sexual assault against minors. Zaka was also under financial difficulties after being caught stealing funds and cooking the books. Potentially, Zaka makes a lot of money sensationalizing news that benefits the Israeli narrative.
Benjamin Netanyahu took the Zaka narrative and was televised talking to Joe (is anybody home) Biden, that then spilled over into MSM. Zaka also spread unsubstantiated news similar to for example, 40 babies were murdered by Hammas, many of them beheaded with headlines similar to 'Hamas roasted babies in ovens' following these claims. The actual deaths are officially record by Israel, and show that around the time of the attacks, a 10 month old baby died and a 0 month baby died during a cesarian birth.
