I didn't think the insult 'spineless' was all that bad was it? Also, NZ could say and do more internationally to raise attention to the Palestinian's plight.

I don't see why this is issue is so right v left coded actually, it's weird.

In terms of parliament, it's about arguing the point, not the person - so calling MPs names is out of order (or put another way, if we let MPs keep calling each other names, you will have chaos in debates, and parliament's have long learned to try and keep decorum). I don't think this issue should be left or right, but I have noted the more extreme people get on each side, then supporting Palestine (for example) becomes a litmus test.

I kind of loathe the 'you sweet summer child' condescension but I think you've earned it. Parliamentarians have often engaged in name-calling and Chloe's was no worse as what has been said prior without sanction. Bit of a jump the shark moment by Brownlee in my view and I think Swarbrick is a narcissistic ideologue so I'm not aching to defend her.

Polarisation can be self-reinforcing as you suggest.

It’s bizarro world with the histrionics and the absolute obsession with Gaza, and those bloody keffiyehs. They’ve mapped their “colonisation” stuff (straight off US campuses - so who’s the real coloniser??) onto Israel and cherry picked the history. If they really think climate collapse is immanent they should be working round the clock on how NZ can adapt and sustainable economic growth. But Gaza is easier - all thats needed is keffiyehs and slogans.

If as Chloie says Israel has been comitting genocide in Gaza for 73 years then they are not very good at it as in that time the population has increased from around 100,000 to well over 2,000,000 I dont think that the Jewish population of Europe increased at that rate under Hitler

Simon, how much of this behaviour can be placed at the feet of the speaker of the house? Credit to him in this instance, however he doesn't seem to run a tight ship.

It’s not about whether it was right or wrong, it’s she insulted those around her and would not respect the rules of the parliament. Chloe would be the first to complain if others’ truth was foist as arrogantly upon her.

I'm genuinely sad that you feel this way. This government is doing nothing to help Palestinians and are instead shifting attention away by trying to pull the focus somewhere else. It's not working.

If we really wanted to help the Palestinians in Gaza, we’d stand with other Arab nations and demand that Hamas be disbanded and their Leaders face prosecution. The West bank which is under control of Fatah is doing fine. Possibly because their leaders don't gang rape women and butcher babies in the name of “Freedom”. But then again what would Hamas do without all the billions in aid which funds their nice lifestyles?

She has become increasingly obnoxious and should never be given any form of power. Her contempt for anyone who is not her acolyte knows no bounds, and she has reached the point where she has overstepped into treasonous terroritory. Sadly she is so deluded she cannot see it and is rapidly falling on her own sword.

Unfortunately gullible people are there in huge numbers, and they cling to someone who shows such confidence. Just look at the trillions of $ being spent on 'net zero', billions in NZ's case alone - and to what end? The global temperature will not budge no matter what we do. Today's popular causes are the emperor's new clothes on endless repeat. Chloe knows this ...

It is high time to stop indulging behaviour such as Swarbrick’s and the Maori Party in general. Their rabblerousing has reached the beginnings of Nazism’s rise in the 1920s and if not swiftly and firmly dealt with could well lead to a level of polarisation that in the past resulted in serious violence by one side to the other. I hope that the lessons of history have not been forgotten by the majority of right minded New Zealanders.

As too with the Maori Party! Petulant 'foot stomping children', insisting on getting their own way! Trying to guilt everyone out with their 'victim bullying'!

Chloe is a 'fallen Eve' archetype using 'unchecked emotion' to try & get her own way!

Parliament can not allow her to ride roughshod over protocol & conventions designed to elicit sound debate, ideas & the truth!

Having said that, someone from the Govt needs to discover the truth of what is going on & declare it!

Middle East history & Islamism can not be ignored, as it tells us where all this is going! Will the likes of Chloe care about genocide then?

How did 49 countries in the world become Muslim? Think about that!

Has anyone heard of the Armenian genocide involving the Turks, & the death of about 1 million Christians!

Stop the 'useful idiots' from being complicit in a real genocide!

Chloe as a codependent of thief G.G. and pervert B.D. is no representative of her electorate. She has the arrogance to wear in parliament a scarf denoting/ emblematic of a foreign and misogynistic and terrorist group of a power base antithetical to our value system, to our laws and mocking her constituency by so doing. It is not her place to argue the case of a terrorist group anywhere in NZ. Treasonous drivel spewing forth from her ignorance.

She and many others have been played. Naive useful idiots who learn history from Facebook, singing the praises of a barbaric death cult. I despair. I’d like to see one MP stand up and defend Israel, like this Ukrainian MP here:

Chloe is showing her true self on the far left, believing only her views matter and not prepared to listen to a balanced argument, such as why is there no demands on Hamas to release the remainder of the hostages. Who was it that started the current war on Oct 7th.

Why have Hamas refused any previous peace settlement

Why are Hamas stealing the food aid and selling the surplus on the black market.

The list goes on, Chloe and the rest of Parliament need to do some objective research, the outcome may be then very different.
